Family, footy and fun with MRL and the West Coast Eagles

Childhood footballing dreams became reality when Mineral Resources (MRL) welcomed our employees and their children to an exclusive kids’ clinic with the West Coast Eagles (WCE).

As Premier Partner of the West Coast Eagles and naming rights sponsor of their state-of-the-art training and administration base in Lathlain – Mineral Resources Park – we were proud to see the community hub come alive with 75 children of MRL employees for an evening to remember.

This included members of MRL’s operational workforce, who either made the effort to attend during their downtime or were represented by their partners and kids.

Excited participants were put through their paces by WCE players Tom Barrass, Jamie Cripps, Liam Duggan, Andrew Gaff and Jeremy McGovern – with a range of football drills and games putting their skills on show.

After photos and autographs with the players, each child finished the evening with a delicious dinner in the Mineral Resources Park café and took home a WCE merchandise pack.

MRL Corporate Partnerships and Events Advisor, Rachel Parnaby, said the kids’ clinic was all about bringing our WCE partnership to life for our employees and giving their children an experience to remember.

“Our ongoing success as a business is driven by our employees – our MRL family – so we’re always looking for new ways to get them involved in our community partnerships,” Parnaby said.

“MRL’s support of the West Coast Eagles is helping to enrich community involvement in and around their home base, and it’s exciting to bring our employees into that environment for this special event.”

Mineral Resources Park continues to grow as a popular community facility and the permanent home of the Wirrpanda Foundation and West Coast Eagles Community outreach program.

WCE General Manager Marketing, Tony Haselhurst, said our partnership continues to support the Club’s efforts to build community engagement – a sentiment MRL harnesses for its own employees.

“We’re proud of the way Mineral Resources Park continues to enrich the local area by offering a common community space where everyone’s welcome,” Haselhurst said.

“Our relationship with MRL is crucial to our efforts and it’s wonderful to see our partners bringing their employees along for the ride and creating lifelong memories.”

MRL is two years into a five-year partnership with the WCE – bringing together two proud WA brands making positive contributions in the places we live and work.
